As we already know, Multichoice Africa, owners of DSTV, are also the owners of the GOtv package. The service was launched at Ibadan, Oyo, on 11^th October 2011. At the onset, GOtv offered only about 38 channels, but recently there have been new additions.

Why GOtv Self Service?

The difference is that the GOtv offers access to cable channels without the need for a satellite dish. You can always get the dish, especially if you are in an area with poor reception. Still, the critical part is that it is optional.

GOtv uses the latest Digital Terrestrial Broadcast Technology, DVB-T2, to deploy services through accessible TV masts. Therefore, GoTv isn’t readily affected by the weather.

Due to its low-priced packages, GOtv is widely used by low- and average-income earners across Nigeria, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Malawi, Ghana, Zambia, and Kenya.

In Nigeria alone, you can find service across major Nigerian cities and states such as Port Harcourt, Enugu, Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Owerri, and Benin City.

How to Clear GOtv E16 Via GOtv Self Service

Before we look at the different GOtv subscription packages, let’s solve the problem of existing GOtv subscribers – the E16 or E30 errors.

Now let’s look at how to clear GoTv E16 or E30 error:

• Go to the unique error fix page on Go TV
• Enter your IUC number
• In the next box, click on the drop-down arrow to select the Error you want to clear
• Now enter the captcha as displayed in the third box to the left, into the right box
• Finally, select the “Fix Error” button.

Using SMS to clear GOtv E16 or E30

• On your mobile phone, type RESET, leave space, and then IUC number. For example RESET 1234564231
• Send SMS to 6488 (or 4688)
• You can also use *288*1# or *423# to get to their customer care

GOtv Subscription Packages and Channels List

To help you decide which GOtv package is for you, let’s look at the full list of channels you get for each GOtv subscription package.

First-month package

As a first-time subscriber to GOtv, you will pay N6,900. This starter deal includes the GoTenna, GoTv decoder, and one-month free subscription to the GoTv Max. Installation is also effortless. You can check out the video below for how to install your GoTv on your own.

GOtv Nigeria Subscriptions

After the first month, you will have to select your desired GOtv subscription package. This determines how many channels you receive to your decoder and, of course, the price you pay. Initially, GOtv offered three main plans with the lowest at 11 channels and the highest at 35 channels. Last year, the lowest plan had about 12 channels, but this list has been enhanced to over 35 channels. Now they offer 5 subscription packages.

A. GOtv Lite – 35 Channels for 400 per Month

This is the lowest GOtv subscription package available. Here you will receive 12 channels at N400 monthly. However, there are two more ways you can pay for the GOtv Lite plan. You can either pay N1050 Quarterly or N3100 yearly.
