Here, we will be showing you how you can register for JAMB online. The process involved in this procedure is kinda long and we will need you to pay very close attention in order not to get anything wrong. Without any further ado, let’s get right down to it.
Requirements for JAMB Registration
Obviously, you’ll need to get all the materials you’ll need for registering. These materials include things like a valid email address, a passport, Scratch Card containing a serial number and PIN. For the scratch card, you can buy that at various ATMs, JAMB online portal, Bank or use a USSD on your mobile phone.
You’ll also need to have your correct date of birth, local government, state of origin and other biodata for the registration process. As expected, your WAEC Result will also be needed with at least 5 credits including Mathematics and English.
Create A JAMB Profile At Any JAMB Accredited Registration Centre
Once you’ve gathered all the requirements needed for the registration process, take them all to the nearest JAMB Accredited Registration Centre and create a JAMB profile for your self on the JAMB portal using the correct details. You will also be required to provide a passport photograph of yourself which will be scanned and uploaded or you can take one at the spot. Also, your fingerprint will be taken. If you’ve previously sat for the UTME exam before, you can pull up your former details by providing the year you sat for the exam and your registration number for that year. That is assuming you want to use the same details as before.
At the JAMB Accredited Registration Centres, you’ll be given the following;
- An E-brochure showing guidelines on admission detailing list of tertiary institutions and available programmes of study.
- A Syllabus (e-syllabus) for the examination.
- Step by step guide on completion of the application form.
- A video messages from the Registrar of JAMB and a demo on how to use eight (8) keys for UTME examination without mouse.
You’ll also be asked if you would like to take the mock exam to familiarise your with CBT environment. If you would like to take the exam, make sure to indicate your interest while registering and if not, also indicate.
Cross Check Everything To Make Sure Everything Is Correct
Once you’re done filling everything and providing everything that is needed for the registration process, take your time to go through everything and make sure you provided the correct details. I can’t emphasize this enough, you won’t be able to make any changes to these details later on so make sure everything is correct and there is no mistake whatsoever. Check the institutions/University you picked for 1st and 2nd choice, check the subjects you picked, Check everything.
Once you’ve confirmed that everything is correct and is the way you want it to be. Complete the registration process and collect your JAMB E-Slip along with other stuffs that will be given to your but most importantly, your JAMB E-slip as without that present on the exam day, you won’t be able to write the exam.
