A businessman named Kingsley Celestino was apprehended by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The suspect, who was traveling to India on a Qatar Airline flight, had 9.40 kilograms of heroin concealed in false bottoms of his two traveling bags.


As per the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the suspect is a 49-year-old native of Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State. He had a Guinean international passport, which he acquired in Guinea Bissau, where he claims his mother is from. Despite being a business class passenger, he was arrested on Saturday, 4th March.
Further investigations reveal that the suspect frequently travels to India on business class tickets and claims to deal in clothing business between Nigeria and India. The NDLEA has taken custody of the suspect and will continue its investigations.
