The Nigeria Army opened its portal on August 19th, 2020, to begin receiving applications of interested applicants, and the application would close on September 29th, 2020.

Positions Open For the Nigeria Army Recruitment

1)Short Service Combatant Commission Course (SSC 47/2021)

Requirements: You must have at least a first degree with not less than Second Class Lower Division or HND of not less than Lower Credit in the arts, sciences or humanities from an accredited institution of learning. Courses of study must also be accredited at the time of study.

Other: Whether you are male or female, you must be between the ages of 23 and 27 by January 2021.

2)Ordnance Corps Officer (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements:  You must have at least B.Sc., B Engr, BA (Second Class Lower) degree or HND (Lower Credit) in any of the following areas: Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Procurement, Textile Technology/Leather Works, Purchasing & Supply, Biochemistry, Logistics Management Chemical Engineering, Printing Technology.

3)General Duty Medical / Dental Officer  (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements:  You must have MBBS/BDS or equivalent with not more than 5 years post – qualification experience and must be fully registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

You are required to show proof of registration with their professional regulatory bodies and current practicing license.

4)Army Engineer (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements:  You must have a minimum of B.Sc., (Engr), B Engr (Second Class Lower) degree or HND (Lower Credit) in any of the following areas:  Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Quantity Survey, and Geographic Information Systems. Such academic fields must be registered with the Nigerian Society of Engineers and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) or regulating professional bodies.

5)Optometrist (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You must have Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and must be registered with the appropriate professional body.

You are required to show proof of registration with their professional regulatory bodies and current practicing license.

6)Dental Therapists / Dental Surgery Assistant (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You must have Higher Diplomas and be fully registered with relevant professional bodies.

7)Medical and Dental Consultant (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You are expected to belong to either of the following fields of specialization such as General Surgery,  Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Anesthesia, ENT Surgery, Physicians (Cardiologists, Endocrinologist, Nephrologists and Neurologists), Ophthalmologists as well as Obstetrics and Gynecologists, Cardiothoracic, Pediatricians and Family Physicians.

8)Army Corps Officer – Supply and Transport (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements:  You must have at least B.Sc., B.A (Second Class Lower) Degree or HND (Lower Credit) in any of the following areas: Catering and Hotel Management, Business Administration,  Hospitality Service, Transport and Logistics, Fire and Safety

9)Army Finance Corps Officer (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You must have at least B.A (Second Class Lower) Degree or HND (Lower Credit) in any of the following areas: Business & Financial Management, Accountancy, Information and Computer Technology, Insurance, and Registration with any of the following Professional Accountancy qualification is compulsory: ICAN, ANAN, ACMA, ACCA, ACA.

11)Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps Officer (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You must have at least B.Sc., B.Engr, B.Tech, BA (Second Class Lower) degree or HND (Lower Credit) in any of the following areas: Cybersecurity, Software Development, Mobile (Android/IOS) Development, Ethical Hacking / Penetration testing,  Database Administration, Digital Forensic Analysis, Geographic Information Systems Analysis, Satellite Imaging and Remote Sensing, Data Analysis, Network Security Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics (French, Arabic, Kanuri, Fulfulde/interpreters), Graphic Design and Animation, Social Media Analysis and Computer Science.

Requirements: You must have at least B.Sc., B Tech, B Engr (Second Class Lower) degree or HND (Lower Credit) in any of these areas: Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering,  Microwave Engineering, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Network Design and Engineering, UAV Pilot, Geographic Information Systems Engineering, Database Management Engineering and Administration, Cybersecurity, Project Management Engineering and Systems Control Engineering.

13)Officer – Directorate of Chaplain Services (Roman Catholic) (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You must have at least a Second Class Lower degree in any of these areas: Philosophy and Theology from a Roman Catholic approved seminary, affiliated to a National Universities Commission accredited by a University or Urbanian University, Rome.

14)Nigerian Army Education Corps Officer (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You must have at least a Second Class Lower degree in any of these areas: B.Sc. Requirements: You must have B.Sc. in Clinical Psychology

Requirements: You must have LLB / BL, and a minimum of B.Sc., BA (Second Class Lower) degree or HND (Lower Credit) in any of these areas:  Statistics, Criminology, Psychology, Computer Science,  Sociology, Forensic Science and Veterinary Medicine.

19)Officer – Directorate of Chaplain Services (Protestant) (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You must have at least BA (Second Class Lower) degree in Theology/Divinity from any of the Seminaries / Universities recognized by the NA Directorate of Chaplain Services (Protestant).

You must belong to one of the 18 major denominations of the protestant faith.

Soldier applicants must have served the NA with a minimum of 6 years experience in Chaplaincy work and must be vetted and recommended by the NA Directorate of Chaplain Services (Protestant).

Requirements: You must have at least BA (Second Class Lower) degree or HND Lower Credit or equivalent in Music with L.R.A.M  and A.R.C.M.

21)Professionals Allied to Medicine (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You must have at least Second Class Lower Degree in any of these areas: Radiology – Medical Image Science, Hospital Administration, BMLS, AIMLS, and AIMLT – Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Environmental Health Workers, Nutrition / Dietetics, Health Service Administration and Health Information Management, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.

You are required to show proof of registration with their professional regulatory bodies and current practicing license.

Requirements: You must have B.Sc. Nursing and fully registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

Requirements: You must have at least B.Sc. or BA (Second Class Lower) degree or HND (Lower Credit) in any of these areas: Sports Psychology, Human Kinetics and Health Education, Sport Physiology, Sports Management, Sport Coaching, Sports Marketing and Exercise and Sports Science.

25)Officer – Directorate of Islamic Affairs (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You must have at least BA, B.Ed (Second Class Lower) degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies, LLB Sharia and Arabic Language from recognized Nigerian universities, Azhar University, Cairo or Saudi University.

Requirements:  You must have at least B.Sc., BA (Second Class Lower) degree or HND (Lower Credit) in Mass Communication,  Journalism, Audio Visual Technology, Television and Film Production, Information Technology,  Radio Production, Public Relations, Communication and Theater Arts, Printing Technology, International Relations and Political Science, Newspaper and Print Technology, Broadcasting and Public Administration. You must have evidence of Membership of any Professional body relating to media operation and journalism.

27)Dental Technologist (DSSC 26/2021)

Requirements: You must have Higher Diplomas and must be fully registered with relevant professional bodies.

General Requirements for the Nigeria Army Recruitment 2020

The applications are invited from suitable Nigerians for commission into the Nigerian Army (NA) as Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) officers. Though, the  DSSC is open to both serving military personnel and civilians, only serving military personnel who were sponsored to civil institutions by any of the Services of the Nigerian Armed Forces shall be qualified.

Entry Requirements

Every applicant must pass the following conditions:

  1. You must be a Nigerian citizen and also resident in Nigeria. 
  2. You must be medically, physically and mentally fit according to NA standards.
  3. Applicants must attach a letter of Attestation from their previous institutions.
  4. Whether female or male, you must be between the ages of 20 and 30 years, while medical consultants must not be more than 40 years of age by January 2021.
  5. You must at least have a height of 1.68 m (for male) and 1.65 m (for female).
  6. You must have a valid State of Origin Certificate.
  7. You must be recommended and attested for by at least 2 recognizable referees, either a Local Government Chairman/Secretary or an officer of the Armed Forces not below the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel and equivalent or an Assistant Commissioner of Police and above who must hail from the applicant’s state of origin. Passport photographs of referees must be affixed to the letter of attestation.
  8. Must have a valid birth certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital or Local Government Council or valid age declaration.
  9. Must not have been convicted by any court of law. All Military personnel applying must be free from any disciplinary case and endorsed by the applicant’s Commanding Officer/Commander.
  10. Must have at least a Second Class Lower Division or HND of not less than Lower Credit from any accredited institution of learning.
  11. Must have NYSC discharge certificate or a valid exemption as appropriate.
  12. You must not belong to any cult/society/fraternity.
  13. All graduates with professional qualifications must be duly registered by relevant regulating bodies recognized by Nigerian Laws at the commencement of cadet training.
  14. Only post-secondary academic credentials obtained from 2011 to date will be considered.
  15. You must present valid contact addresses and telephone numbers of parents/guardians and Next of Kin.
  16. You must not have any inscriptions or tattoos on their bodies.
  17. You must tender all original copies of educational certificates (primary to post-secondary).

Please Note

  1. All Service personnel must present valid military identity cards and letters of recommendation by their Commanding Officers/Commanders. They must also present a valid letter(s) of NA sponsorship to tertiary academic institutions. Additionally, they must have served for a period of not less than 5 years in the unit.
  2. All female applicants are advised to seek commission into specialist corps like Medical, Legal Service, Supply and Transport, or Army Public Relations.

Also Note:

Applicants must print out their online generated photo-slip on completion of their application. Important Information
