A Nigerian-born British healthworker, identified as Carol Jamabo has reportedly died from Coronavirus complications in the United Kingdom.
The 56-year-old mother of two and community caregiver at the Cherish Elderly Care in Bury, Greater Manchester, passed away last week Wednesday after testing positive for Covid-19.
Carol Jamabo, who moved to the UK from Nigeria in the early 1990s, was a major worker for more than 25 years. The health worker also worked in the prison service and as an NHS administrator at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London.
Though the Nigerian born health worker never had any major underlying health issues, her health worsened quickly even though she was on a ventilator at Salford Royal Hospital.
The death of Jamabo was also confirmed by her nephew, Dakuro Fiberesima who revealed that she was transferred to an intensive care unit at the Salford Royal Hospital.
He further said that her condition became worse.
“The youngest son is in a terrible position. He was extremely close to her. He was living with her. She was just an amazing aunt.
“Growing up in an African background, the aunts are very strict, but she was fun and had such a positive character.”
