Peterside: No Acceptance of 2023 Election Results Until Court Pronounces Final Judgement

Nigerian businessman, Atedo Peterside, has refused to congratulate Bola Tinubu, the president-elect of the All Progressives Congress (APC), due to his dissatisfaction with the results of the presidential election. Peterside criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for uploading results that he claimed were insulting to everyone’s intelligence.

Peterside also revealed that he won’t accept the result of the 2023 presidential election until the court makes a final pronouncement on the suit challenging the victory of the APC candidate. During an Arise Television interview, he commended Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate, and Atiku Abubakar, his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, for challenging the presidential election outcome in court.

Peterside challenged INEC and its chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, to use the opportunity provided by the upcoming March 18 governorship and state assembly elections to correct their errors and regain the trust of Nigerians. He further stated that INEC cannot afford to fail twice and must insist that everybody uploads the results after voting to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
