President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his unhappiness over the recent confirmation of a case of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
A statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity identified as Garba Shehu, the President made it known that the virus still entered Nigeria despite the serious efforts put in place by the government regarding readiness and response measures put in place in the country’s borders and beyond.

The President appreciated the immense efforts of the Federal Ministry of Health and other relevant agencies whose diligence and efficiency made the case to be known, diagnosed and the patient isolated immediately.
President Buhari also appreciated the responses of the Federal Ministry of Health and Governments of Lagos and Ogun States as well as other relevant agencies to the incident of a case of Coronavirus and calls for vigilance on the part of all citizens and responsible government agencies.
The President urged Nigerians to stay calm and not to panic about the news of this first case of Covid-19 in the country, as the unnecessary alarm would do Nigerians more harm than good.
He rather urged Nigerians to strictly observe the advisories sent out by the Ministry of Health, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and the World Health Organisation (WHO), on the best way to avoid the virus.
The head of affairs in the country, President Bihari, also stated that this information of ways to prevent the Corona virus is being broadcasted in all available media by the Federal Ministry of Information.
