A few weeks ago, I got the idea to try something I’m now calling “The Smile Challenge” on my Facebook page.
The suggestion is simple.
Make it your goal to make 10 people smile at a particular place in your life. The commenter did this practice at the gym, and made it his daily habit to get 10 people smile each day while exercising.
You could practice this smile challenge at the office, in your neighborhood, or even just at home with your friends or family. The only real trick to the challenge is making it YOUR goal to intentionally make someone smile 10 times a day.
I’ve been trying the smile challenge out for the last few weeks and have been having a lot of fun with it. If you’ve been wanting to spread some positivity around, it’s a great exercise I’d highly recommend.
Now, sometimes smiling at strangers can be awkward, can’t it? If you find that it feels weird or a bit “off” to show off your pearly whites, here are a few suggestions I have to make it easier to get the ball rolling with this challenge.
The fun thing about the smile challenge is that it makes it very, very obvious just how contagious positive energy is. The more we see our smiles turning into other people’s smiles, the better we all feel.
10 intentional smiles a day can go a long way when it comes to raising the vibration of the collective. When you think about it, taking on a challenge like this is an excellent way to help humanity and the world at large.
To join the Challenge, post a picture of you smiling using the hashtag SMILEChallenge. You can also join the challenge by simply trying the suggestions from your Facebook feeds.
