Aisha Yesufu is a Nigerian businesswoman and socio-political activist. She was born in Kano, on December 12, 1974. She is also the co-convener of an advocacy group, “Bring Back Our Girls Protest.” The group drew the attention of more than 200 Chibok secondary school girls that were kidnapped on the 14th of April 2014, by Boko Haram terrorist group.

She was born in Kano on the 12th of December 1974 to her parents, who are from Edo state. She was raised and breed in Kano state. Aisha Yesufu got her secondary school education from BUK secondary School, Kano, Nigeria. She went ahead to further her education at the Kano State College of Arts & Science, Kano State. She has a Microbiology degree from Bayero University Kano (BUK), in 1999.
She later proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she got a Master Degree in Pharmaceutical, in 2006.
Even though Aisha Yesufu is well-educated, her childhood was not an easy one. She grew up in the ghetto and the environment did not support female education. When she was 11 years old, she was left with no female friends, because they were all married from their tender age. However, she was determined to be educated and to leave the ghetto. Most of her mates were closed to becoming grandmothers when she finally married at the age of 24.
Early Career
Aisha Yesufu worked as lecturer on Medical Microbiology, in the Kano State School of Nursing, during her National Youth Service Corps days.
She later went into business, and she is currently the owner of Oceangate Distribution Service, the company is known for importing Alim Tomatoes into Nigeria.
In 2003, she founded Aliyyah and Amir Ventures Limited, which is involved in trading and distribution of general merchandise and raw materials in the northern part of Nigeria.
She is also a social-political activist, and she has been speaking against the wrong doings occurring in Nigeria and the government.
In 2014, when about 276 Chibok Secondary School girls were abducted, Aisha Yesufu joined forces with Saudatu Mahdi, Hadiza Bala, Obiageli Ezekwesili, and Maryam Uwais to protest for the release of the Chibok girls.
2020 Career To Date
In 2020, Aisha Yesufu still continued as a social-political activist. She took active part in the END SARS protest. The protest was tagged “END SARS” movement, which had to do with excessive police brutality and unwarranted killing of innocent Nigerians. She called on the Nigerian government to disband the SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) unit, which is a unit under the Nigeria Police Force.
She vowed never to stop the fight against the END SARS movement, until they are disbanded, because she cannot leave the fight for her children.
