University Of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT)

The first university on our list is a public university located at the University of  Port Harcourt, PMB 5323 Choba, East-West Rd, Port Harcourt Nigeria. It was first established as the University College,  Port Harcourt in 1975. Then given the university status in  1977. It has a capacity of 35,000 to 39,000 students and the school was ranked sixth in Africa and number 1 in Nigeria by high times as of 2015.

Federal University Of Owerri (FUTO)

As at then, the school only began with just 225 students and 60 staff but, now the institute has over 22,000 students and 50 professors. University Of Lagos (UNILAG)

It has three of its major campuses located in the mainland of Lagos.

It is one of the five generational universities because it was founded after Nigeria’s independence. The university has a big faculty of engineering and several engineering departments under it. University Of Benin (UNIBEN)

It is located at 1154, P.M.B, Ugbowo Lagos Rd, Benin City Nigeria. More so, it is a public university owned by the Federal Government and it was established in 1970.

There is a total of 75,000 students with Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Chancellor and Prof. Lilian Imuetinyan Salami as the Vice-Chancellor. University Of Nigeria UNN

This university is highly regarded as one of the oldest universities. It was founded in 1955 by the founding father Nnamdi Azikwe. This institute is located at Nsukka in Enugu state Nigeria and has four campuses,  one in Nsukka, Enugu, Ituka-Ozalla, and Aba campuses. It is a very reputable school with various top alumni.
