Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun is popularly known by his stage name Wizkid, is a very talented and famous Nigerian songwriter and singer. He was born on 16 July 1990, in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. He is also known as ‘Starboy’ and he is the CEO of “Starboy Entertainment.”

Wizkid Biography

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun was born on 16 July 1990, in Surulere, Lagos. He grew up in a polygamous family; his father who is a Muslim had three (3) wives, though his mother was a Christian. Nevertheless, Wizkid has over twelve female siblings.

He began singing at a very tender age of 11 years and he went with a stage name ‘Lil Prinz’, until 2006.

However, he was only able to complete his primary education at Ijebu Ode Grammar School, Ogun State. He dropped out of Lagos State University (LASU), in 2006, and later, Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State. However, he is today one of the richest Nigerian singers and is well acknowledged on the International scene.

Wizkid has not gotten any legal wife yet, though, he has been into several relationships, which yielded children.


Overall, Wizkid has allegedly dated over 10 ladies including Sophie Rammal, Sola Ogudugu, Tonto Dikeh, Victoria Kimani, Hudda Monroe, Tania Omotayo, Seyi Shay, Binta Diamond Diallo, Justin Skye, and Tiwa Savage.

In August 2011, it was rumored by ‘Nigerian Entertainment Today’ that Wizkid had his first child from his Babymama, Oluwanisola Ogudu. At the time, she was only 19 years old and an undergraduate student. Initially, he denied severally that he was not responsible for her pregnancy. It was after many family tussles and the paternity test that he accepted the child as his own.

 In 2013, Wizkid uploaded pictures of him and his 2 years old son, Boluwatife Balogun, on his Instagram account. The August 2011, story of ‘Nigerian Entertainment Today’ was finally confirmed, by the Instagram pictures Wizkid posted on his page.

In 2016, Wizkid got a son from another Baby mama, named Binta Diamond Diallo. She is a Guinean-American and ex-video vixen. Wizkid again denied and refused to accept the baby boy as his son and he even suggested going for a paternity test, just like in the case of his first son. After much fuss and even criticism from his fans and people, he accepted the boy, Ayodeji, as his son.

In November 2017, Wizkid had a third child from Baby mama, Jada Pollock. She is a British-American and their child is named Zion. The news of his child, Zion was a big surprise to many people, because Jada was known as his manager and not his romantic partner. Without any issues like in the previous cases, Wizkid promptly accepted the child.

However, at some point, Jada Pollock accused Wizkid of domestic violence on social media. Nevertheless, she debunked the news shortly afterward, claiming that her social media account was hacked. She further added that he is a wonderful father and that he had been taking care of her and their child.  


His other baby mamas have different stories to tell. They talk about how he is a woman-beater and irresponsible father. His second baby mama for example, complains bitterly that he doesn’t help her take care of their child.


She said he has failed to comply, even after the agreement her lawyer entered with Wizkid representatives, that he will pay child support of $2,000 monthly, starting from February 2018.

His first baby mama, Sola Ogudu has said she has been playing the role of a mother and a father of the baby she had with Wizkid. She further stated that it had always been about either pleading or forcing him to pay for his son’s school fees. Sola also pointed out that even with all her patience and effort she puts to make sure that their son has a good life, Wizkid does not appreciate her.

In reply, Wizkid had never talked about or debunked these accusations. He had only declared in interviews that his first two baby mamas are just after his money.

Wizkid was born 16 July 1990; he is presently 29 years old but would become 30 years old, later this year. Concerning his height, Wizkid is not a tall guy, he may be considered average at 1.62 meters.

As a young boy, he was listening to Bob Marley, Sunny Ade, and Fela Kuti. He later formed a group known as the “Glorious Five” with some of his friends from his church. They later released an album before they disbanded him from the group. Wizkid then was going with a stage name ‘Lil Prinz’, until 2006.

Then, he met ‘OJB Jezreel’ and he then became a frequent visitor to OJB’s Point Beat Studios, where he was privileged to see great musicians like 2 Face Idibia record songs for his ‘Grass 2 Grass’ album and even Sound Sultan’s ‘Jagbajantis’ album. However, Wizkid has stated in interviews that Naeto C mentored and coached him in music when he was 15 years old.

In 2009, Wizkid started recording his debut studio album ‘Superstar’ and “Holla at Your Boy” was the album’s lead single, which he dropped on 2 January 2010. The song “Holla at Your Boy” won The 2011 Headies Award. There he received a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. He also received nominations for the Best Pop Single. Later, the video of that song received nominations for the Most Gifted Newcomer Video at the 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards.

Wizkid dropped his second single “Tease Me/Bad Guys” and on 2 April 2010, he released his third single “Don’t Dull” on 6 December 2010. On 12 June 2011, he released the album ‘Superstar’ (by Empire Mates Entertainment).

The producers were Jay Sleek, Masterkraft, E-Kelly, DJ Klem, Q-Beats, Samklef, and Shizzi. On the album, he also featured great artists like Wande Coal, Banky W, D’Prince and Skales. He also won Best Album of the Year at the 2012 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Wizkid has received nominations the Album of the Year at The Headies 2012.

Fast Forward to the present day, Wizkid now owns his record label.
